After the inauguration of Gustavo Petro, ANATO has expressed its interest and willingness to open a space for dialogue in which the challenges of the sector are exposed

After the possession of Gustavo Petro as president of the Republic; Francia Márquez, as Vice President; and the immediate appointment of Germán Umaña Mendoza, as Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, ANATO expresses its interest and willingness to open a space for dialogue in which the challenges of the sector are exposed.

“To President Petro, we have previously shared our Vision of Tourism, a document that includes the priorities on which we believe that we must work for the recovery of the travel industry, and we are sure that aligned, their strategies will be aimed at highlighting the potential of Colombia and expose it to foreign travelers to exceed the figures that had been reported before the pandemic, "said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.

And he added: "as the president has mentioned, the country's economy must turn to tourism and we know that the public-private sector will take the travel industry to another level."

The Association also receives with optimism the news of Germán Umaña Mendoza, as Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, a key player to strengthen the sector and make the interest of converting it into a substitute for the country's oil income a reality.

“Together we will ensure that tourism is the protagonist in this new Government, that the national and international air connectivity of the country be strengthened; and that we continue working for the conservation of destinations; so that more Colombian travelers visit the regions of our country”, concluded the union leader.
