On August 21 and 22, Chihuahua, the largest state in the Mexican Republic, was present as part of its agenda at the business tourism event, IBTM Americas in its 15th edition at the Citibanamex Center.
For two days, representatives of the delegation met to attend various business meetings. Julio Chávez Ventura, representing the ¡ah Chihuahua! Tourism Promotion Trust, was present, and Marisol Mendoza Salais and Rebeca Echánove, respectively, representing the offices of the Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua Convention Bureaus.
In addition, at the Chihuahua stand, visitors were pampered with drinks and foods typical of the state, such as tastings of nuts, dried meat, wine and sotol, an iconic drink extracted from the Dasylirion Wheeleri plant, a species of agave endemic to the region.
The event included details of two important events to be hosted by the State of Chihuahua: the First Regional Sustainability Summit and the annual event of the Mexican Association of Professionals in Fairs, Exhibitions, Congresses and Conventions (AMPROFEC).
The AMPROFEC event will be held in Chihuahua capital in May 2025 and will bring together professionals who work in the organization of fairs and conventions such as those in charge of setting up catering, stands, sound, transportation, among others,
The First Regional Sustainability Summit will be held in Ciudad Juárez, where experts in sustainable events from all the states of Northern Mexico will meet to present techniques and provide training on topics in this field for the events themselves, for the hotel industry, and for tour operators.
These types of events represent a great opportunity for the growth of business tourism in the region, in addition to enhancing the commitment of the State of Chihuahua to integrate actions that reduce environmental impact by promoting sustainable events.
